Fun on the Farm

We have been home a month today and I have only a handful of pics to show for it. We have been busy though. Randall went with Jake and Danny to Taos to drop Jake off for his Western Walkabout. Lily and I stayed home and played at the pond with the rowdy crew who hang out at Buffalo Creek Lodge.

School is going great. Lily couldn’t be happier about riding the bus, recess, gym and having a 17-student fourth grade class and four teachers. She goes to church with mom and Dad every Sunday and Wednesday night. Randall and I have been riding the bike through the countryside on Wednesday nights. Watching Jake get ready for his camping trip has made us want to tramp around on foot but we haven’t nailed down when and where yet.

Lily and I are getting to draw and paint a lot, too. I am thinking about letting her do a little farm graffiti somewhere since there are so many outdoor objects around here begging for some paint. We may hike down to Dad’s junkyard and paint the old brown truck that died by fire a few years back. I am also seeing cow bone embellishments, at least on the front grill. We have lots of bleached bones scattered in the north pasture. Now that the weather is cool, this would make the perfect little party. If so, there will be pictures, for sure. And snacks. And possible beer, sort of a farm version of those Sip and Paint parties now the trend in the ‘burbs. Can’t you just see it?
