Waiting out Tropical Storm Sara

We are ready to sail away to new shores. Unfortunately, Tropical Storm Sara has been slowly sauntering right across our desired path. We have had an ongoing drizzle/light rain from Sara’s outer bands. We have played a little gin rummy, done a couple of chores, read some books and made a few quick trips to town in our rain jackets.

One little chore was to take off the dingy motor, hoist it up on the dock and fix a slow leak that was requiring us to pump out the dingy everyday. The hardest part was hoisting the heavy motor up on deck using a boat winch. Thankfully, all knots held and we didn’t drop it.

The above is one of our taco dinners. One thing nice about Sara coming through has been a bit of soup weather. It isn’t exactly cold here but the soup isn’t exactly hot either so it has been fun to have soup a couple of times this week. Yesterday, we got together with Jerry and Debbie from Czech n Mate for beef soup at Coworker Cantina.

Today we finally woke up to a little sunshine. Things are looking good to try make a run for Utila. We will keep you posted.
