Weather Watching

Weather-watchers have been saying for a week that the low pressure system off the coast of Nicaragua could become a tropical storm and might come our way. So far so good. It looks like it may just bring rain and hopefully cooler temps.

I said maybe we should stock up on groceries in case we get days of rain. Randall said we have rain jackets and would want to get off the boat at some point. Yeah, that sounds right. Plus we are side-tied here (easy to get off and on) and the grocery store is so close. So I guess we will get the rain gear out and tramp through puddles if we need to.

I would like to find a book to be couped up with for a few days. Alas, Manglar Marina just happens to be where most of the French sailors berth. Thus, 95 percent of the book exchange is in French. I know if sounds weird that the French might not integrate into all the marinas but I’m sure they want to be close to the grocery store for the preparation of fine wine & cuisine. Waiting on an invite!!

Speaking of fine cuisine, we can never find ribeye steaks, which puzzles us. But we have found a butcher who, although he didn’t have chuleton (ribeye), he instead lifted another steak-looking cut of meat and said “muy suave.” We bought a pound to try. It wasn’t ribeye tender but it was tender for Guatemala beef.

I didn’t take a pic of our now favorite butcher but this egg guy looked like he wanted to be part of the blog. Also, speaking of fine cuisine we went to Taco Tuesday a few night ago and there was a merry band of sailing singers performing. I drew them instead of taking a picture. Sorry to say the drawing is not shareable. Still working on people.😁😁

I love living my life vicariously through your blog. I might even make it in the sailboat if you get to dock at a similar area when you decide where you are going.
If the egg man was in Oklahoma right now he would be wealthy. I bet you enjoyed the band!
Hope you don’t get to much rain..
