While I was away, Randall, Jake and Lily took in The Wiz, an outdoor play on Demen’s Island. It was a jazzy version of Wizard of Oz. They liked all but the Lion. Apparently, the Lion was miscast.
Lily spent Friday night with her friend Lauren K. They went to visit Lauren’s horses and spent some time shopping. They had a great time and we are hoping Lauren K. will come see us in the Keys.
We grilled out last night with Lauren G., Archer and Uncle Joe. The kids swam and the grown-up’s tried to shield the enticements on the grill from all the marina passerby’s. The smell, of course, of sizzling rib-eyes and moist, dripping scallops can not really be contained. A few paused to size us up. We must have looked formidable. Joe waved a knife with a rather menacing look on his face. He was waving it at me for mentioning how nice his nemesis was to me when I meet her at City Marina. I guess, though, that the scene served to keep hungry strangers at a distance.
Archer accompanied us to Foxtrot for a sleepover before we depart. They spent for morning doing Rainbow Loom as these two are both artists at heart. We are hoping the Gallegos on T Maru will be coming right behind us down to the Keys. We leave today. They are looking at a later in the week departure. The goal is the Dry Tortugas and Key West. Serenity (dt) and seediness (kw) all right there waiting for us.
