Friday, we heard rumors of a Lily look-alike on a boat at Ram Marina. We decided to investigate. Sure enough, there was a smiley blond, just-turned-eleven, girl on the sailboat Sunny Rays. We made friends, got invited for birthday cake and left minus our little smiley blonde who ended up staying on Sunny Rays for a sleepover. Such is the speed of boat friendships.
Unfortunately, Dale, her brother, Ray, and parents Martie and Dan were already set to leave on Saturday. They have been cruising the Caribbean for years and are heading to Port Aransas, Texas, to let the kids return to school. Dale and Lily got a quick morning swimming session in and we bid a sad farewell to the Bond’s. The girls plan to keep in touch by email.
Saturday night, we had Molly over for her very first sleep-over ever. Mom Tracy stopped by around bedtime just to make sure there were no second thoughts. Nope! Molly said a “Good night Mom” that had not a trace of worry in it. When she left, Lily and Molly finished their movie, drew a few more castles and went to bed. Molly was up bright and early to see if the pancakes we had promised were going yet. Lily was about 15 minutes behind but rallied for the pancake and strawberry feast. Lily and Molly did the mixing. Lily flipped. Molly served. Randall supervised. I ate like a queen.
Sunday we spent the day getting the boat ready for tomorrow’s haul-out at Ram. But Randall took time to set up Lily’s email account since she now has an email penpal. Here is a picture of Lily and Randall examining computer innards. No, this was not something Randall did for the heck of it. The computer featured in this picture will currently not boot up. Which means, well, it is somewhat good timing to come back to the states for some computer data rescue and computer shopping.
Where will you stay until your flight after you haul the boat out? Just curious!
I enjoy your blogs!! See you soon!
We are staying on the boat in the boat yard for a few days and then going to Antigua and staying a few nights in a hotel before our flight. Thanks for reading! I have some pics of the boat blocked up in the yard so will try to get them uploaded later today…
